Speaking on his appointment, Light said: “I’m excited to join the Concrete Playground team as Managing Director, having seen first-hand what an exciting time it is for the business.

“I’ve always admired Concrete Playground’s brand and publication, and am looking forward to making an impact with the team, the broader business, within the media industry, and to the cultural fabric of our cities.

“The strong team and culture, led by Founder and Director, Rich Fogarty, has been a key reason why I have joined, particularly as we evolve from a lifestyle-driven content business to more intent-driven publishing. It’s great to be part of a forward-thinking business which is such an integral part of our media landscape,” concluded Light.

Founder and director of Concrete Playground, Rich Fogarty, said: “Alex is a strong, consultative leader who comes to Concrete Playground with extensive digital publishing experience and excellent commercial skills.

“He has already built meaningful internal and external relationships through his consulting work and most recently, led the successful launch of Concrete Playground Trips.

“It’s fantastic to have Alex onboard and I look forward to working closely with him as we focus on Concrete Playground’s future growth together,” concluded Rich.

Prior to joining Concrete Playground, Light launched Bowlow Draught beer and worked at VICE as its Australian commercial director driving business across APAC. He also launched its creative agency arm, VIRTUE, into the Australian market.
