Alice Almeida appointed as News Corp head of digital strategy and innovation

Former Hitwise staffer Alice Almeida as been appointed as News Corp’s head of strategy and innovation, the company announced this morning.

In the newly-created role, Almeida’s return to News Corp will see her responsible for applying the company’s data, consumer research and insights to new projects for News Digital Networks Australia and the national sales team.

“Alice is an innovative digital thinker and I’m delighted she has joined the team to lead our digital strategy,” said News Corp Australia’s managing director for digital revenue, Cameron King, in a media statement.

“With Alice’s extensive media strategy experience and digital knowledge I have no doubt her appointment to this newly created role will help marketers generate new and innovative engagement opportunities, using our data capabilities and highly-engaged audiences to better reach and influence their consumers.”

Almeida was formerly manager of innovation and insights at Hitwise, and has served on both the the IAB Measurement and Research Councils. She previously worked for News as a strategic planner between 2007 and 2008.

“I’m really excited to be back where my digital career began. I look forward to working with clients to understand the complexity, and brilliance, of digital and how to effectively incorporate it into their marketing strategy,” said Almeida.
