Bill shock is the target of Allianz's new campaign

Allianz has launched its new Say Hello campaign that shows how people take out their anger on over-priced insurance quotes.

The campaign, through MercerBell, provides a fresh take on the traditional Allianz campaigns that feature people calling the insurer after an accident with the catchphrase “ahhhh”, which the operator then finishes with “Allianz”.

MercerBell executive creative director David Bell said the agency was looking for a new way into the conversation with consumers.

“The brief was to simply smash a savings message. But we wanted to put a fresh spin on the ‘Ahhh-Allianz’ mnemonic at the same time,” Bell said.

The ad features the 1960s track ‘See Ya Later Alligator’ set to a ska beat with vision of people blending, mowing and burning their insurance quotes before calling Allianz for a better deal.

The campaign will be supported through banner ads, YouTube pre-rolls and radio, while the ‘Say Hello’ tagline will be extended to home and travel insurance.
