Amaysim gets new CMO as Renee Garner moves into CEO role

Lisa Vitaris – previously the chief marketing officer for ASX-listed Tyro Payments – has been named the new CMO at mobile provider amaysim, after the telco appointed Renee Garner as its company head, the first woman to ever take the helm.

Vitaris has more than 17 years’ experience in marketing, from a range of successful companies across the financial services, technology, automotive and travel sectors.

Garner, 40, was appointed head of amaysim, while on maternity leave and has taken over from Isaac Ward, placing her as not only the first female company head, but also the youngest company head in the organisation’s eleven-year history.

Garner appointed Lucila Pagnoni as senior commercial director, as well as moving Vitaris into the senior sales and marketing director (CMO) role.

And not only do Garner’s subsequent hires in Vitaris and Pagnoni bolster amaysim’s executive senior leadership team, they also redefine the gender split, which now sits at 60% female to 40% male.

“I believe that the key to amaysim’s success is in our people and culture, in fact, we view our culture as our competitive advantage, with empathy at the core of everything we do. Before we can show Big Love
to our customers, we must first demonstrate Big Love to each other. Recognising talent and driving diversity is a big part of this, as is caring about our people and providing a place of belonging and radical
acceptance in which our people can learn, grow, and thrive together.”

Pagnoni was previously head of commercial and strategy at TPG, with over 15 years of experience in strategy definition, delivery, and operations across multinational corporations in telecommunications
and media.

“Amaysim is all about growth this year, we’re going to see a LOT more orange out there and we’re not going shy away from asking every Australian to give us a go! With the incredible backing and support of
the broader Optus business, our incredible team, and our insatiable appetite for winning customers hearts, we’re primed for our best year yet.” said Garner.
