Amaysim offers additional data to customers to help them work and study from home

Amaysim has joined the list of telcos offering its customers additional mobile data to assist them in working and studying from home.

Taking effect last Friday, customers on Amaysim’s $40 and above mobile plans will receive unlimited data to use until 15 April.

Amaysim is also offering additional data to customers

Customers on the $10 mobile plan will receive 10GB of additional data, $20 mobile plan customers will receive 20GB of additional data, and $30 mobile plan customers will receive 30GB of additional data.

All customers will receive unlimited talk and text in Australia as standard.

Amaysim founder, CEO and managing director, Peter O’Connell, said that keeping customers connected was the priority.

“We recognise that our customers rely on our service to connect with family, friends and colleagues, as well as medical and emergency service providers. Keeping our customers connected is our number one priority. That’s why we’re offering customer additional mobile data to assist their increasing needs during this period,” O’Connell said.

The telco also acknowledged the value of additional data while there is increasing reliance on the NBN.

The company’s statement said: “With the strain on the NBN expected to increase over the coming weeks, and months, additional mobile data has the potential to free up bandwidth during peak periods.”

Amaysim suggested the additional data be used to hotspot from mobile phones when Wi-Fi is lagging, using video calls to contact family and friends, and stream entertainment services.

Optus announced last Monday that it will be offering eligible postpaid mobile customers will be offered a one-off add-on of 20GB of data and eligible prepaid customers that recharge with $40 or more during April will receive 10GB of extra data.

Meanwhile, Telstra is offering unlimited data for at home and small business customers, and 25GB of extra data for personal and small business mobile customers if they register before March 31. Pre-paid mobile customers are being offered an additional 10GB for active recharges of $40 or more.
