Amex lead strategist Ciarán Norris returns to Ireland for Facebook role
Former Yahoo7 head of digital, Ciarán Norris, is to leave his current Sydney-based role at American Express to take a role with Facebook’s Dublin office at the end of this month.
Norris, who arrived in Australia from Ireland as Mindshare’s chief digital officer in 2012, joined Amex in 2015 after spending a year with Yahoo7. His move follows Amex’s local vice president of consumer marketing Julie Nestor leaving to join eBay last month.
At Amex, Norris held the role of director of marketing and business insights from the Sydney office and led the JAPAC consultancy team in the global merchant services marketing team.
In a statement to Mumbrella, an Amex spokesperson said: “Ciaran will be leaving American Express at the end of the month to pursue another opportunity internationally.
“We’re sad to see him leave, as he was a fantastic ambassador for American Express and brought some great experience and capabilities to the organisation.
“We wish him all the best in his new role. We are currently recruiting for Ciaran’s role, and will hopefully have his position filled shortly after he finishes with us.”
Mumbrella understands the company is also still on the search for Nestor’s replacement.
Ha, you can let him know that the AMEX card still never works anywhere and thankfully after calling up and saying that they refunded the $400 fee and I’d encourage anyone else to do the same. Silly endeavour here in oz.
