ANZ Bank group GM of marketing Louise Eyres exits

ANZ Bank’s group GM of marketing Louise Eyres has departed the business after nearly 15 years.

Louise Eyres departs ANZ Bank

ANZ replaced the role with a general manager of group marketing for customer insights and analytics, which was taken up by fast-moving consumer goods specialist Sweta Mehra earlier this month

Eyres joined ANZ October 2002 as a corporate brand manager before being promoted to head of brand and sponsorship in October 2008.

She was then promoted to head of group marketing in October 2009 before being taking on the group general manager of marketing role in February 2011.

The announcement was made internally in March, with Maile Carnegie, group executive, digital banking, thanking Eyres for her 14-year commitment to the brand.

Eyres said she was now seeking new opportunities.

“Having had the opportunity to lead across three very distinct business strategies and group CEOs, and working with a very strong team of internal and external partners, it is now time to take this experience to a new opportunity. The creation of the More Convenient Banking Campaign in 2006, the rebranding and repositioning of ANZ globally in 2009, the negotiation of Asia-Pacific sponsorship platforms and the continued development of marketing capability are memorable achievements. I am confident that marketing will continue to play a pivotal role in enabling ANZ’s success as it continues its purpose led transformation,” she said in the note.

Eyres’ departure comes a year after Google Australia boss Carnegie joined ANZ as head of digital.
