ARIA Charts: Taylor Swift back on top

Taylor Swift is back on top of the national albums chart, following a rush of big pop releases from the likes of Charli XCX, Gracie Abrams and Billie Eilish.

The Tortured Poets Department returns to the top of the chart in its 11th week, leapfrogging last week’s #1 debut, Gracie Abrams’ The Secret Of Us, and #2 Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft, which is in its seventh week on the chart.

Swift currently has five albums in the ARIA top 20, and seven in the Top 50.

The highest debut comes from American singer-songwriter Omar Apollo, whose second album God Said No debuted at #11. Slightly lower down, Imagine Dragons’ sixth studio album Loom debuted at #17, and Camilla Cabello’s album C,XOXO entered at #29.

Over on the Singles chart, Shaboozey’s A Bar Song (Tipsy) has finally hit the top spot, after threatening to do so for the past 10 weeks.

Last week’s number 1, Sabrina Carpenter’s Please Please Please has dropped to #3, while her smash hit Espresso remains at #2.

There not much other movement in the top reaches of the chart, with the highest debut coming from Aussie The Kid Laroi, whose new single Girls enters at #21.

The only other new entries for the week at Chappell Roan’s Hot To Go at #43 — her album is currently at #4 — and Dominic Fike, who debuted at #50 with Kisses.
