ARIA chief to talk digital

The boss of  Australian music’s industry body is to take part in a debate hosted by Digital Citizens on social media’s impact on the entertainment business.

Dan Rosen, CEO of the Australian Recording Industry Association, will be joined by Neil Ackland and Ben Shepherd, MD and commercial director of online publisher Sound Alliance at next Monday night’s event.

Also participating is singer/ songwriter Sam Buckingham and Gareth Stuckey, director of music production company Gigpiglet Productions

Among the topics being covered are how the shift to digital content has changed marketing and distribution, how artists are using social media and developments in the media business including the imminent launch music streaming platform in Australia, as well as Google’s new music store.

The Digital Citizens event takes place on December 5 at FBI Social at the Kings Cross Hotel on William Street in Sydney.
