BBC Worldwide marketing director Amanda McGregor promoted to new role

Amanda McGregor has been appointed director of brands, consumers and new ventures – a new role – at BBC Worldwide Australia and New Zealand.

Currently the director of marketing – overseeing marketing, brand and consumer strategy – McGregor will also look after the commercial activity of six global brands in territory; Top Gear, Dancing With The Stars, Doctor Who, Torchwood, BBC Earth and Lonely Planet, as well as developing other new areas of business.

McGregor’s appointment comes as the company aims to grow with more of an emphasis on live events and gaming and other consumer-related avenues.

Tony Iffland, GM of BBC Worldwide Australia, said: “Amanda is the ideal person to drive forward greater consumer, brand and marketing focus across BBC Worldwide Australia, and to support our rapidly growing new business areas. She has demonstrated an excellent track record in developing and exploiting our brands across a range of platforms and I am sure will provide great leadership for the live events and gaming areas of our business going forward.”
