Armstrong admission rates 186,000 for Discovery
The first part of Lance Armstrong’s confessional interview with Oprah Winfrey on The Discovery Channel delivered the network one of its strongest Australian audiences of all time on Friday lunchtime.
According to preliminary metro ratings from OZTAM, the interview delivered a national audience of 186,000 – subscription TV’s highest audience of the day. It was also one of pay TV’s highest non-sports audiences of all time.
The OzTAM figures do not include out of home viewing such as those who were watching the interview at work.
The second part of the interview, aired on Saturday, rated 100,000. The top pay TV audience for the day was the Big Bash League cricket on Fox Sports 2 which averaged 327,000. The Armstrong interview was second.
