Australian media culture peaks with Karl vs Clarke fracas
While the story that has gripped the nation over the past two days has centered around the Clarke vs Karl standoff, Dr Mumbo has begun to feel a little sorry for ‘Karlos’.
Headlines no one expected to see, but everyone was delighted to read including ‘Karl Stefanovic’, ‘Michael Clarke’, and ‘Noosa car park’ lit up Twitter and the tabloids on Thursday.
Watching back the clip splashed in the Daily Telegraph’s watermark, Stefanovic’s involvement in the scuffle appears to have been largely overplayed though.
While Nine’s star host opted to avoid any mention of it on the Today Show, it appears the damage will be a little more severe for Clarke. The Sydney Morning Herald reported today that a skincare sponsorship deal Clarke had in place has now fallen through, as well as his lucrative commentary gig of Australia’s Test tour in India next month.

Dr Mumbo wishes both Karlos and Clarkey well. After all, it won’t be the first scandal either have bounced back from..
