Avid Collective announces new head of enablement and operations

Avid Collective has unveiled ex-Junkee Media executive, Niki Jones, as its new head of enablement and operations.

The announcement:

Avid Collective today announced the appointment of former Scout Publishing and Junkee Media executive Niki Jones, as its new head of enablement and operations.

In the newly created role, Jones will be responsible for overseeing operational activities across various arms of the business with a focus on partner engagement. She will be part of Avid Collective’s leadership team and report to commercial director, Ezechiel Ritchie.

Formerly the head of commercial, strategy and operations at Scout Publishing and Junkee Media, Jones successfully restructured the business, streamlined operations and processes in her role, and redefined the business’ commercial strategy, post-acquisition from oOH! Media.

Prior to this, Jones spent nearly two decades working at several renowned national media organisations, including SCA where she was group sales manager, the Seven Network, and ARN where she was an account director. Beyond her media experience, Jones also serves as the director of Dragon Labour Hire, where she has been developing apps to boost efficiency in engaging the casual workforce.

Avid Collective managing director, Luke Spano, said Jones was a welcome addition to the team.

“We are thrilled to add someone of Niki’s calibre to the Avid leadership team. Niki brings more than two decades of expert insights, along with a deep understanding of industry dynamics to Avid. She is passionate about innovation and using technology to drive growth – I am confident her enthusiasm, combined with her expertise, will make her an invaluable member of the Avid business.

“Niki’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Avid. The business has grown exponentially since the recent launch of the Avid Platform 2.0, and we’re looking forward to another growth fuelled year in 2024.”

Commenting on her appointment, Jones said: “I’m excited to join Avid Collective, particularly as it is a company with innovation at the heart of its operations. My past experience reflects a dedication to leveraging technology to streamline operations and drive success, and Avid provides the perfect environment to continue these activities. With a real passion for innovation, I constantly seek new technologies and industry trends to stay ahead of the curve and I can’t think of a better place to do that, than at Avid. I look forward to contributing to the company’s commitment to excellence and driving innovation in the dynamic media landscape.”

Jones’ appointment is effective immediately.

Jones’ appointment follows the recent launch of the Avid Platform 2.0, which makes it easier for brands to better reach and engage Australian audiences through native content campaigns with more than 140 publishers. It also comes off the back of the expansion of Avid Collective’s leadership team including Rob Ewing being appointed
to head of agency partnerships, the expansion of Leah Stalker’s remit as head of direct advertising partnerships and last year’s appointment of new commercial director Ezechiel Ritchie.

Additional internal promotions are set to be announced in the coming weeks.

Avid Collective works with more than 100 brands across Australia in every category from QSR, Retail, Finance, B2B, FMCG and Automotive. Its publisher network now reaches most of the Australian population across publishers including: Time Out Australia, Junkee and Punkee, Mouths of Mums, Forbes Australia, frankie, and We Are Explorers.
