B2B publication Cannabiz appoints industry thought leader Rhys Cohen as editor-at-large

Australian cannabis publication Cannabiz has appointed Rhys Cohen as its editor-at-large. Cohen will analyse the big stories and what they mean for the industry, beginning with a deep dive into The National Drug Strategy Household Survey.

Cohen is the director of Cannabis Consulting Australia and sits on the advisory board of Fresh Leaf Analytics.

Cannabiz co-founder, chief growth officer and former Mumbrella CEO, Martin Lane, said Cohen was a natural choice for the role.

“When talking to industry leaders about their current information sources, the name that crops up as the most respected voice in Australia – unprompted and without fail – is Rhys Cohen.

“His writing fits perfectly with the Cannabiz editorial ethos, which is not simply to tell our audience something has happened, but to help them think through what it means for their business. I couldn’t be happier to welcome him to the team,” said Lane.

Cohen said: “I’m excited to be working with Cannabiz as editor-at-large. Cannabiz is new on the scene, but Martin and the team have already shown their capability for high-quality, in-depth industry journalism, which is exactly what this sector needs.”

Cannabiz has also appointed Emma Castle as digital content producer, bringing the editorial team to five people. Castle is a former editor of Spice News and deputy editor of Hotel Management. She will be responsible for content production, ensuring timely and relevant news is reaching members via a weekly newsletter.

Lane added: “I’m delighted to welcome Emma and Rhys to the Cannabiz team. We are investing heavily in our content to make sure we bring our audience the best writing in the Australian cannabis sector.”
