Bank Australia gives media account to Alchemy One

The Members and Education Credit Union – now known as Bank Australia – has appointed Alchemy One as its media agency following a competitive pitch.

Alchemy One said the win tops off a hugely successful year for the agency, following client wins with Foxtel, MYOB and Unidays.

“As an agency, Alchemy One seeks to partner with brands that continually push the status quo and challenge the way things are done,” Alchemy One’s managing director Joel Trethowan said.

The Sydney-based agency will, from January, conceptualise and deliver customised buying and integrated planning services for Bank Australia, it said.

“From our first meeting with the Bank Australia team and their partners, we felt a strong connection and alignment of goals and values. Bank Australia is unlike any other financial institution in Australia and we believe there has never been a more important time to educate Australians on why where they bank matters,” Trethowan added.

Responsible banking, he said, has never been more critical.

Fiona Nixon, head of corporate affairs and marketing at Bank Australia, said she was looking forward to working with Alchemy One to build awareness of the brand.

“The Alchemy One team instinctively understand Bank Australia’s purpose, and we’re confident they will help us talk to more Australians about how their choice of bank shapes the world we all live in,” she said.
