Basketball Australia announces new marketing, comms and digital lead

Basketball Australia (BA) has announced the appointment of Jo Juler as its new executive general manager for marketing, communications and digital.

Juler has a wide range of executive-level experience at international and domestic sporting bodies, including Tennis Australia, Melbourne & Olympic Parks and the Melbourne Football Club.

Interim CEO for BA, Carolyn Campbell said: “This is an important appointment for Basketball Australia and we are delighted to welcome Jo Juler to the organisation as our new executive general manager – marketing, communications and digital.”

Juler will lead BA’s marketing, communications and digital team, working with internal and external stakeholders to drive the governing body’s growth agenda.

“Basketball has one of the highest grassroots participation rates of any sport in Australia, our national teams both at a senior and junior level are ranked amongst the best in the world which is a reflection of our elite pathway, we produce globally revered coaches and officials, and the Chemist Warehouse WNBL is not only the longest-running elite women’s sporting competition in Australia but acknowledged as one of the finest leagues internationally,” said Campbell.

Last year, Foxtel and the ABC secured a deal to broadcast all 60 games of the 2020 WNBL season, a positive boost for the sport ahead of the 2020 FIBA Basketball World Cup, set to be hosted in Sydney.

Juler will commence the role on 19 April, based out of BA’s Melbourne head office.
