Be Interactive MD Lara Thom launches Conceive

Lara Thom, who left the helm of Be Interactive two months ago, has launched a branded content company called Conceive.

The new venture, which starts life with four staff, will develop brand extensions in TV, digital and retail.

Thom told Mumbrella: “I want to commit more time to the right side of my brain. I’ve been running an agency of 100+ people for a while. I want to return to creative pursuits, which is how I started my career.”

“I’ve built Be Interactive up, and the business has been sold at a great price. Now Salmat will take it to new heights,” she said.

Conceive is currently working on a number of new and original television formats, a digital  platform and a major retail brand push.

“I’m still very close to Salmat and their new digital business will be executing a lot of the digital work Conceive creates so I’m delighted to still be involved with them,” Thom added.

Be Interactive was sold by Photon Group to Salmat in December last year.

Earlier today, Salmat announced the hire of a new CEO to run its digital business, Nick Spooner, the chief digital media officer of Ten.
