Bikie PR not as funny as it seemed
A lot can happen in four weeks.
PR agency Access put out an April Fool’s Day press release saying it had been hired by a bikie gang to improve their image. Less than a month later comes the news that the bikies have indeed retained PR counsel. Disappointingly, Access hasn’t got the gig.
“…formed the NSW Bikers Council, hired a barrister as their spokesman and invited the media for a chat tomorrow.” Hired a barrister as a spokesperson/invited the media doesnt mean retaining PR counsel Tim – legal counsel aint the same beast…that’d be like saying anyone could be a legal rep after watching Shatner in Boston Legal and buying a curly blonde wig. A fair point, Gerry.
It sounds to me like they should have hired a pitch consultant to begin with to make sure they got the right sort of PR professional. And as for their other communication needs, I’m not sure they’ve even thought through their integration strategy yet…
