Blaze Advertising’s ECD Patrick Rychner departs as agency merges with MediaCom

Patrick Rychner has joined The8agency as its executive creative director after departing Blaze Advertising in October.

Rychner departed Blaze Advertising after the WPP-owned agency merged with media agency MediaCom in March 2018.

Mumbrella understands once the company merged with MediaCom in March last year, the group decided to wind down the 25 year old Blaze Advertising business.

When approached by Mumbrella for comment on Blaze Advertising’s status within the group, Mediacom declined to comment.

Rychner joins the Melbourne-based agency which is led by the former CEO of Blaze Advertising, Leanne Krstevski.

Krstevski became the CEO of The8Agency in September last year, departing Blaze Advertising three months prior.

The8agency has offerings including digital and development, media planning and buying, content creation and management and measurement and metrics.
