Bledisloe and Netball World Cup deciders perform well while Dancing With The Stars lifts

Dancing with the StarsSeven’s Dancing With The Stars lifted its audience pulling 736,000 viewers last night, an improvement on last week when the celebrity dancing show recorded its worst ever audience with 673,000.

The result came on a night when Nine’s The Voice once again dominated pulling 1.381m, down again on the 1.404m viewers it got last week, but helped lift Nine’s main channel share to 26.5 per cent.

Sunday night also saw a close result in the news race with Nine beating Seven in the 6pm bulletin by only 29,000 viewers, across the metro markets, with Nine having an audience of 1.324m and Seven having 1.295m for their recently revised hour long Sunday news formats.

Seven’s Sunday Night drew with 1.152m in the 7pm slot while 60 Minutes drew 874,000 at 9pm as both programs looked at issues to do with paleo diets.

On the ABC Grand Designs Revisited drew 863,000 viewers while Ten’s highest rating show was Gold Coast Cops which drew 501,000 viewers.

Over the weekend sport performed well with Australia’s victory in the final of the Netball World Cup drawing 353,000 on Ten yesterday afternoon, and 184,000 viewers on Fox Sports nationally.

Last week’s victory for the Wallabies over the All Blacks saw a bumper audience tune in on both Ten and Fox Sports on Saturday night for the Bledisloe Cup decider with 600,000 watching New Zealand’s victory on Ten and 307,000 on Fox Sports nationally, making it the most watched pay-TV event of the day.

While Nine won Sunday night on audience share Seven had 21.1 per cent on its main channel, the ABC had 11.5 per cent and Ten had 9.3 per cent.mumbrella sports marketing summit banner
