BMF appointed as Nova’s ad agency

DMG’s new marketing director Tony Thomas has appointed BMF as creative agency for its flagship radio network Nova.

Among the most recent previous work for the station was Happy Soldiers’ teddy-in-the-blender ad, which was pulled two months ago after viewers wrongly thought it was a dog. However, there is no suggestion that the appointment of BMF was a reaction to that.

Thomas said: “Iʼm excited that we will be working with BMF as our new creative partner. They understand the future direction we are taking Nova, and showed great passion in how we will get there. We have already started working together on some big projects for 2011.”

BMFʼs CEO, Jeremy Nicholas said:  “Nova is a great brand with a fantastic creative pedigree and a big vision for the future. Weʼve had a blast working with the Nova team so far and we are looking forward to partnering with them to make 2011 a fantastic year for the business.”

This year has seen Lachlan Murdoch take a 50% ownership stake in the network, and the replacement of the Vega network with Classic Rock.

Since Thomas arrived, DMG has also replaced its media agency, moving its business from Mediacom to UM.
