Creative agency BMF restructures planning division

Simon McCruddenCreative agency BMF has recast a number of senior planning positions, appointing Simon McCrudden as its new executive planning director and promoting David Hartmann to planning director of its Sydney office.

Under the changes, Melbourne based McCrudden takes on a newly created national role which will see him working across major accounts including MLA, Lion and Aldi while Hartmann will oversee the Sydney office following the departure of Alex Siewert who moved to TLE this week.

“BMF has always valued planning and has a proud planning tradition,” said Matthew Melhuish, BMF’s founding partner and executive chairman. Simon and David taking on these new roles is a testament to their talent, passion and professionalism.”

Former CEO Jeremy Nicholas – who was ousted earlier this year – was previously the agency’s executive planning director.

McCrudden said of his appointment: “I’m hugely excited about the role and I’m looking forward to spending more time working across both offices to ensure BMF’s strategic excellence continues to flourish to benefit all of our clients’ business.”

BMF has also hired Andrew Wray, a communications planner with experience particularly in digital and social media.

“Welcoming Andrew to the planning team adds another skillset to strengthen BMF Planning. I couldn’t be happier with these appointments,” said Melhuish.

The agency’s new CEO Dominic Stinton starts in the next few weeks.
