National Box Office: Garfield takes the lasagne this weekend

The Garfield Movie debuted on top of the Australian box office this weekend, taking $2.96 million – that amount tips over $3 million once you include preview screenings.

After a monster debut last week, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has taken another $2.29 million over the weekend, bringing its total box office to more than $5.6 million.

IF took another $1.31 million in its third week, bringing its cumulative box office to $6.73 in week three of release.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes managed to add another $1.07 million to its Aussie box office, now at $10.53 in its sixth week, while The Fall Guy, also in its sixth week, brought in $577,000 – for a total of $13.23 million to date.

The National Australian Box Office was $10.75 million for the weekend, up 17% on the prior weekend.

The Garfield Movie shouldn’t get too cosy as top cat, given next week sees the release of the latest Bad Boys instalment, Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
