Bridie Carter and Myles Pollard launch production company

Australian actors Bridie Carter and Myles Pollard have launched a production company, Homeland Entertainment.

The announcement:

Acclaimed Aussie actors, Bridie Carter and Myles Pollard, have joined forces to create production company, Homeland Entertainment, and develop stories they can take to the world and will debut new work, A Walk In The Park, in early 2021.

In 2001, Bridie Carter and Myles Pollard were cast in the iconic Australian drama McLeod’s Daughters, which gifted them a devoted fan base across the United States, Canada, Ireland, and many European countries. The love story of Tess McLeod and Nick Ryan is part of Australian television folklore and that onscreen partnership evolved to a long-standing friendship that has seen the duo produce projects including the sell-out McLeod’s Daughters Bush Christmas Reunion Live Event for Channel Nine and Millennium Television in 2019.

With a like-minded spirit for story-telling Homeland Entertainment will allow fellow NIDA graduates Bridie and Myles to drive and share significant stories with a global community in new and innovative ways, transcending traditional and conventional norms and distribution.

Bridie said “We found ourselves pondering the uncertainty created by COVID-19 across the world and were motivated to search for a universal story we could take to the world somehow. With travel bans and isolation orders in place a very special story ended up finding its way to us. Through a remarkable set of circumstances, we were offered a script written especially for us, by an American writer we had never even met, Robert Lewis Vaughan.”

Myles added “Robert is a New York playwright who has created A Walk In The Park, a global story about love, life and family told through the eyes of married couple, Jessica and Gavin, who reminisce about that first fleeting glance, that first tender kiss and that first walk in the park. It is a powerful piece about connection and family in a time of volatility and unsettling change. Robert’s dedication to us – ‘this play is dedicated to Bridie Carter and Myles Pollard, both looking for a way to reach out and touch people’s hearts’ has struck a chord with us and we can’t wait to bring his work to life.”

Bridie and Myles have headed the calls from across the world and will come together on 20 December to launch their new endeavour officially with their devoted fans via a streamed live event. They will share for the first time the intimate and never before heard details of how their film project, A Walk In The Park, by Robert Lewis Vaughan eventuated, the purpose of and ambitions for their new production company, Homeland Entertainment, and their personal and professional adventures, including their work on celebrated television shows Home and Away, 800 Words and of course their memorable roles of Nick and Tess on McLeod’s Daughters.

Bridie and Myles will bring A Walk In The Park to life under COVID restrictions; Bridie in New South Wales and Myles in Perth and are working with new and innovative creative technology to debut the film online mid 2021
