Britain’s Got Talent drops to 583,000 as Heston pushes Masterchef to win the night

Despite steady numbers through the early episodes of Britain’s Got Talent, last night Nine saw the audience drop for the the UK talent show to 583,000 metro viewers.

Fitzy and Wippa’s 20 to One was also down on previous weeks with 683,000 viewers on a night when Heston Blumenthal’s chocolate challenge on Masterchef helped Ten secure an audience of 1.134m in the 7:30pm slot.Masterchef

The performance of Masterchef boosted Ten’s main channel audience share to a 19.2% helping it to win the night.

Seven’s The Force drew 657,000 viewers in the 7:30pm time slot, with 507,000 viewers hanging around for part six of the Seven Investigates series In Cold Blood: The Chris Lane Story at 8:30pm.

The network did not screen Kiss Bang Love last night in the post 9:30pm slot, after its poor ratings in recent weeks, but said it would return next week.

NCIS on Ten at 8:30pm drew 670,000 viewers.

In the news race, Seven News won both the 6:00pm and 6:30pm bulletins with an audience of 1.11m and 1.085m, respectively, compared with 1.019m and 1.002m, respectively, for Nine.

While Ten won the night, Nine had an 18.2% share, Seven 16.5% and the ABC 10.5%.
