Kimmel and the clowns
While Dr Mumbo was delighted about the return of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel to the late night airwaves today, worldwide confusion over the two ABCs continues.
Antoinette Lattouf, who infamously tussled with the Australian ABC, revealed on this morning’s edition of her podcast We Used To Be Journos that her supporters have been thoroughly confused by the two organisations sharing the one acronym.
“People reached out to me and were like ‘Antoinette – help Jimmy Kimmel. You’ve dealt with those ABC clowns’,” Lattouf told her listeners.
The US ABC (American Broadcasting Company) suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live after the Trump administration objected to his observations around right wing politicking about the murder of activist Charlie Kirk, and affiliate networks threatened to drop the show.
ABC reversed the decision after an enormous backlash to its craven surrender. That decision was made without the benefit of all of the feedback. Over the weekend, the Aussie version of the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) revealed it had been the mistaken recipient of “hundreds” of complaints.
