Cabana Boys wins Angostura Bitter

Sydney agency Cabana Boys has won the ad account of Angostura Bitter.

The announcement:

Sydney agency Cabana Boys has been awarded the Angostura Bitters advertising account by island2island Beverage Company.

The appointment covers both Angostura Aromatic Bitters (the iconic bar ingredient) and ready-to-drink Angostura Lemon Lime & Bitters.

Cabana Boys will provide brand strategy and creative for Angostura’s 2012/13 advertising, sales promotion, POS, social media and public relations activities. Cabana Boys has also won public relations projects for the wider Angostura brand, including Angostura rums.

The appointment was awarded without pitch, Cabana Boys having provided projects for island2island since June 2011.

Marketing Manager of island2island Beverage Company, Nathan Forde said Cabana Boys had provided a clear strategic direction and persuasive creative platform to take the brand forward.

“The work that is now in development will represent a major shift for Angostura – helping to broaden its appeal and make the brand more contemporary and meaningful to a new generation of drinkers,” he said.

Cabana Boys founder and creative partner, Stuart Ghent said: “Of course we’re excited to have Angostura on board. We go through a heck a lot of it around the pool. It’s a pleasure to be working on a brand we so completely believe in.”
