Cadreon appoints Clay Gill as CEO following Patrick Darcy’s exit

Cadreon has wasted no time in revealing Patrick Darcy’s replacement as CEO. IPG Mediabrands’ advertising technology division has appointed Clay Gill just hours after it was revealed Dentsu Aegis Network had hired Darcy as its new chief data and technology officer.

Gill joins from The Trade Desk Australia and New Zealand, where he was general manager. In his role at Cadreon, Gill will lead a team of more than 100 employees.

Gill’s appointment is effective immediately

Cadreon wished Darcy well in his new position, and emphasised why Gill, with 25 years’ experience, is the right fit.

“Clay brings a wealth of specialised growth experience across the agency and technology landscape,” said Leigh Terry, IPG Mediabrands’ APAC CEO.

“His passion for utilising emerging technology to drive intelligent, effective media execution and his ability to operate as a strong and collaborative leader are exactly the combination of skills we were seeking for this key leadership position in Australia.”

Gill will report to Yean Cheong, Cadreon’s APAC head.

“Looking to 2020 we see Cadreon’s skill sets evolving at speed and have great confidence that Clay has the executive skills and vision to drive the business to higher levels of effectiveness and performance,” Yean Cheong said.

Added Gill, who begins in the role immediately: “Cadreon is striving to make the increasingly digitised future a simple, open and inclusive one. It’s a productively challenging environment that I really look forward to joining. I’m excited about the work Cadreon is doing to make brand engagements more meaningful and with the potential to reach a new level of excellence in communications delivery for clients.”
