Campaign aims to convince consumers to buy Australian olive oil
The Australian Olive Association (AOA) has launched a national campaign aimed at educating Australians about the benefits of buying home-grown olive oil.
The campaign, fronted by nutritionist Dr Joanna McMillan, promotes Australian Extra Virgin olive oil as the “fresher, healthier, tastier olive oil”.
CEO of the Australian Olive Association Lisa Rowntree said in a statement: “We have been lobbying for two years for imported olive oils to comply with the Australian standards and now the AOA has taken the only option available by directly educating the public with this campaign endorsed by Dr McMillan.”
The Buy Australian Olive Oil campaign runs across TV and radio and is supported by press, social and digital and a public relations campaign.
Interesting article,
Can you tell me why it is better then other olive oils? Next to the fact that importing from overseas leaves a massive ecological footprint.
For the record, I am from Holland, we are not a producing country, so I will not say that we produce at least the same or even better olive oil :-). I tasted some of your oils and they are lovely
Kind regards,

I heard this advertisement on commercial radio the other day.. I actually purchased some australian extra virgin olive oil from http://www.olivetrader.com.au and was surprised at the variety of olive oil produced in regional Australia. I grew up thinking that italian olive oils would have been a superior choice, but never thought that what is on our supermarket shelves is not what the italian locals are cooking with.
