Captain Risky moves into crowded caravan in latest Budget Direct ad
Captain Risky has been forced to move into a caravan after his house was destroyed in Budget Direct’s latest campaign demonstrating the benefits of being covered by its insurance products.
The latest ad, created by 303MullenLowe aims to promote Budget Direct’s temporary accommodation provision as part of its home insurance offering, with the spot seeing a family and its pets move into a temporary house before comparing that with Captain Risky’s new digs as a voice-over says “But not everyone is a Budget Direct customer”.
Jonathan Kerr, director, marketing & digital at Budget Direct, said: “The latest campaign continues to show the award-winning insurance Budget Direct customers can depend on, clearly in stark contrast to Captain Risky. This time Risky is forced to move his pets and worldly possessions into a tiny caravan, while our customers ‘get more with Budget Direct’.”
The commercial is directed by Hamish Rothwell of Goodoil Films and launched on Sunday May 7.

Captain Risky ads as a whole: This would have to be the most annoying, unproductive, useless ad on TV. So much so, that we would not even consider using budget as an insurance agency.

I cannot overstate how much I despise the current Budget Direct ads.
They’re just awful and I cringe every time I see them.
Enough!
