Carat appoints Yahoo7’s Andrea Rule as chief marketing officer

Carat has appointed Yahoo7’s head of brand Andrea Rule as chief marketing officer, replacing Adriana Colaneri who joined The Story Lab as MD of Australia and New Zealand in February.

Rule departs as head of brand at Yahoo7 after five years with the business, now tasked with heading up Carat’s existing marketing function with a remit covering brand positioning, trade marketing, and contributing to new business development nationally.

Carat CEO Paul Brooks said in a statement: “Andrea is a brilliant hire for us. We’ve been looking for the right candidate with a very specific skillset in mind – one I’m delighted to say we’ve found in Andrea. Her commercial nous and proven expertise in strategic integration and content marketing will no doubt be an invaluable asset to Carat.

“It goes without saying she’s extremely well-respected and highly sought-after in market. Her appointment signifies our continued focus on and commitment to recruiting high performing talent.”

Rule said of her appointment: “This presents an opportunity to work with a great team and market leading brand. I’ve been impressed with the innovative approach Carat has to marketing and I’m looking forward to continuing and evolving that effort.”

Rule commences officially on Monday 19th June, and will be based out of Sydney.
