Carol Morris joins UN LTD as general manager

Carol Morris, the former executive director of the Media Federation of Australia, has joined not-for-profit industry body UN LTD as general manager.

Morris, a former Merchant & Partners and UM executive, stepped back at the MFA in September last year after a decade of service.

She joins UN LTD, formerly known as Mayday, with a brief to help disadvantaged kids by tapping into the resources of the industry.

UN LTD’s current GM, Sarah Britt, moves into a new role as company secretary, overseeing corporate governance and risk and compliance.

Morris said in a statement: “I’ve admired the great work of UN LTD over the past six years and believe in the bold vision to create a movement that sees this influential industry take ownership of the very real problem where too many young people in our country suffer through no fault of their own.”

“Our challenge is to connect emotionally with the vast talent across the industry and provide meaningful avenues for them to bring their skills and energy into the UN LTD movement. I am immensely proud and honoured to be joining the UN LTD organisation and helping to make a difference in many young people’s lives.”

Barry O’Brien, UN LTD Chairman commented: “We could not be happier to have attracted somebody of Carol’s credentials to drive the organisation and our executive committees to deliver on our plans for 2013 and beyond.”

“We’re particularly excited that Carol will be leading the development and deployment of the UN LTD Payroll Giving platform across the industry to enable every individual to participate in an initiative that aims to create an Australian and world benchmark for industry collaboration and pre-tax giving.”

Also new to the UN LTD team is Stephen Ward, head of not-for-profit banking at Macquarie Bank, who joins the grants and audit committee and Gini Sinclair, content director at The Monkeys, who joins the events and fundraising committee.
