Clemenger Melbourne holds onto TAC account

Victoria’s Transport Accident Commission has retained Clemenger BBDO as its creative agency following a competitive tender for the account.

Clemenger BBDO was the agency behind the TAC’s award winning 2016 ‘Meet Graham’ campaign showing how humans would look if they were designed to survive car accidents.

Gayle While, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s deputy CEO, told Mumbrella: “We’re thrilled to be continuing our partnership with the TAC, and to have the opportunity to build on the contribution we’ve made in supporting the TAC in its Towards Zero vision. We’re looking forward to this next chapter.”

Clemenger BBDO won the TAC account in 2013, ending the government body’s 24-year relationship with Grey. The renewed agreement will see Clems hold the account for the next five years.

In its announcement the TAC said the tender attracted 22 expressions of interest with four agencies  being short-listed.

TAC chief executive officer Joe Calafiore said the tender process demonstrated the best of Victoria’s creative thinking and insights, saying: “Public education is critical to reducing the number lives lost and serious injuries on our roads.

“We look forward to working with Clemenger BBDO as we continue to engage with Victorians to help make our roads safer.

“I would like also to thank all of the agencies that submitted tenders, showcasing the strength of Victoria’s creative industries.”

The arrangement is non-exclusive and will allow the TAC to continue to work with a range of specialist communication experts in the field of public education.
