Club Med appoints first Australian agency

Resort company Club Med has for the first time appointed an Australian agency to handle its advertising – almost all of which goes online.

After a formal pitch process, Club Med Australia appointed Sydney creative agency Radar.

Radar pipped four other agencies after a three-month pitching process to land the account, which includes Club Med Australia’s digital strategy, creative, media buying, SEO and social media.

A Club Med mobile app will be Radar’s first piece of digital work for the organisation.

Andrew Robertson, Radar director said: “Working with a brand like Club Med in a digital capacity is incredibly exciting. They spend nearly 100% of their budget online, so they’re not only digital savvy, they’re actually asking us to push the limits strategically and creatively.”

Quentin Briard, Club Med general manager Australia and New Zealand said: “The Australian market for travel products is a highly dynamic one, and the online space is the dominant source for information, media and sales. Radar impressed us with their strategic thinking, especially for how we can start to do things very differently here in Australia and as we move the brand into a more premium space.”
