Coca-Cola South Pacific has appointed a new marketing chief with Lisa Winn to the role of marketing director, Mumbrella can reveal.

The promotion of Winn comes after the departure of Chris Johnston, who had been in the role less than a year, and has returned to his native Canada.

A spokeswoman for Coca-Cola confirmed the appointment for the brand which last year had a $22.8m spend according to Nielsen in June 2013.

Winn has been with the company since 2002 and worked on a number of brands and programs for the business over that time.

Her most recent role was strategy & planning manager at the soft drinks company.

The role is one of the most high-profile marketing positions in Australia, with Winn following in the footsteps of the likes of Lucie Austin who left Australia last year to become Coca-Cola marketing director for Europe after spearheading the ‘Share a Coke’ campaign.
