Commonwealth Bank asks how much Aussies really know about cricket in new ad

Commonwealth Bank challenges Australian cricket fans on how much they really know about cricket in a new campaign supporting the womens’ game.

The 50 second commercial asks 10 different people which Australian cricketer took a wicket with their first ball in international cricket?, which Australian cricketer became the youngest ever to score an internal century?, which Australian cricketer holds the record for the fastest ODI century? and which team is ranked number one across all formats of the game?

Each person filmed answering the questions responds with different male cricketers including Steve Smith and Shane Warne, while Pakistan, India and England are all listed as the teams who are ranked number one.

Towards the end of the ad the cricketers being filmed take off their helmets revealing they are women.

The advertisements were all created in-house.

A shorter 15 second ad has also been made just asking the question “which cricket team is ranked number one in the world?”.

The opening keynote at Mumbrella’s Finance Marketing Summit is Anna Bligh, Chief Executive of the Australian Bankers’ Association, who will be addressing how the ABA is improving the way Australians feel about banks and the role marketers need to play.
