My feeling is that the audience will drop significantly next week. The show was CRAP!!! Stylistically, it was far too much ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ and not enough ‘Sex & The City’. Dire over-acting too.

My thirteen year old daughter loved it. Which is a worry on many levels.
I think I’ll be putting out the rubbish next Thursday night.

Let’s see, gratuitous sex talk, teen masturbation, adult to young adult blow jobs, no wonder your daughter loved it Tony, it’s pretty much all kids think about/do!!!

Everyone was curious to take a look becuase the great marketing machine that is channel 7 was out in full force well before the program aired.
I totally agree with Scott though. Numbers will drop next week because after the first look, viewers have no reason to return!
The show was so bad, so so so so bad that I can’t even put it into words.

I’d be interested to see the minute by minute data. The 30min average looks good, but what was the reach versus drop-off rate. Heavily promoted and highly anticipated…….Lucky I had IQ so I could record and skip through the ads later, giving me the time to watch a quality program like Dexter. I’ll give it one more shot next week, but currently not listing as appointment viewing.
The fact it’s on a Thursday night (low viewing night) leads me to believe that 7 doesn’t think it will hold the audience either in future episodes.

As a 40+ mother of a teenage boy, have to say there wasn’t much about it that I could relate to or even find humour with, trying to think outside my own square.
And I really did want to.
Twitter was ablaze with negative comments from women of my age group last night. But maybe we’re not the target audience?

Younger man/well preserved older woman. Classic boy fantasy. You are right Marina, you are not the target audience. My 20 year old son is. They should have called it “The Boilers’ Bar” or “Predator”…

i checked twitter during the first 15 mins and the sentiment was very positive. i think it’ll hold most people.

Who says that Seven had the biggest rating? Nobody tested what I was watching last night (ABC.)
People with set top ‘testing’ boxes: who are they? How many people have them? I do not know anyone with one? How does the box know when someone has the TV on but is mowing the lawn, doing the wasjing up, making a cup of tea…?
Roll on the day when we all have a ‘homescreen’ and everything comes via the same route and is trackable…

i know i wont be watching it again next week. the only good thing about it was the fact it was half an hour rather than an hour.last night i didnt think i could endure a minute longer…

Even Leckie was quoted over the weekend saying Cougar Town was ‘shit’ and the only reason it rated was due to promotion LOL
