Coverage for tomatoes, stones and lamp posts: GIO focuses on the details of policies in platinum insurance campaign

Suncorp Group’s insurance brand GIO has followed on from last year’s brand platform ‘You know with GIO’, with its latest campaign for motor vehicle, home and contents insurance.

The new ads focus on an everyday item – such as a spoiled tomato in a fridge – and then reveal how GIO customers could benefit from having it covered.

The concept behind the campaign is that the details of an insurance policy matter, relating back to the brand’s platform that consumers know exactly what they are covered for with GIO.

The campaign was created Leo Burnett, part of the Publicis Groupe which created a bespoke agency to service Suncorp Group’s list of brands.

Suncorp Group executive manager of marketing insurance, Mark Behr, said in a statement: “We are excited to create a real point of difference in the highly competitive insurance market. Together, with Leo Burnett, we are very proud to launch our new campaign, extending on our successful brand platform, ‘You Know With GIO’, that aims to inform today’s insurance buyer, connecting with them on both a rational and emotional level.”

The initial campaign will be executed across TV, radio, outdoor and digital.
