What a pile of cringeworthy nonsense in Masterchef last night…
Perhaps we could also do with some of Hayden’s soup of clarity…

What the hell was the Dalai Lama doing on that show anyway? He’s become an international food critic too, has he? Isn’t he all about piety and austerity and sacrifice and fasting and all that sort of buddhist stuff. Not stuffing your fat gob on seven courses and deriving pleasure from the superficial. I actually thought it was a bit inappropriate on top of the embarrassment. And, in truth, could think of 1000 more appropriate guest judges than him…

I don’t get it !
and it made me feel slightly uncomfortable watching this show last night.
How did they get him to agree to do a blatantly commercial TV cooking show……….why the hell did he say yes?
But geeze I laughed my pants off at Matt Preston though – what a geezer!

Not surprised His Holiness topped the ratings – mesmerising television. It was excruciatingly inappropriate to involve him, and shameful that he agreed to be involved. The spectacle was unbelievable
Now, for the flood of disillusioned former Dalai Lama devotees……….

The grovelling from that celebrity chef was priceless…she couldn’t even look him in the eye and you wouldn’t have been able to prize her hands apart with a crowbar! I couldn’t stop laughing. Champagne comedy.

Cringeworthy does not even begin to cover it. Having a well meaning but slightly ditzy student nurse from Brisbane tell a global spiritual leader she had had “a nightmare in the kitchen” before bursting into tears was toe curlingly awful.
Who said yes to him doing the thing and which producer will forever be known as putting a failed Gnochi and World Peace in the same programming.
Awful.

A new low of bottom feeder barrel scraping for Fremantle. Just appalling that they would allow the Dalai to demean himself and debase his station in the name of shameless exposure for the congregating populist hordes. No longer the wise master or divine dieity in many of his former devotees eyes, and the ultimate sell out for a man whose whole life is supposedly devoted to the attainment of higher plane spirituality in the name of modesty, piety and selfless sacrifice. Not fronting a show aboit gluttony, hollow contests and superficial ratings. He summed it up when asked his opinion on the food he was served, “I don’t know I just eat what is put in front of me”.
Hang your heads.

Just shocking that he should even be asked to appear. Just as shocking was The Amazing Race contestants carrying a cross in Jerusalem on tonights episode.

What the hell was he thinking? I have even lost some respect for him, not a good move for his branding if you ask me
