David Jones starts hunt for new creative agency

Fashion retailer David Jones is seeking a new creative agency.

Incumbent agency TBWA won the account in 2013 after David Jones dumped M&C Saatchi.

“We are currently undergoing a review of our creative agencies and have gone to market after an appraisal of our needs to ensure we have options that will suit our business in the future” a David Jones spokesperson told Mumbrella.

Mumbrella understands TBWA decided not to re-pitch for the account.

It is understood that David Jones is looking for a small design agency to assist the agency as it brings more capabilities in house.

At the time of TBWA picking up the business, it had been one of M&C Saatchi’s highest profile accounts over the three years they had held the account.

Last year, David Jones moved its headquarters from Sydney to Melbourne.

In 2016, David Jones’ CMO David Robinson and marketing GM Victoria Doidge departed the retailer, Doidge later resurfacing at  Event Hospitality and Entertainment.
