Day one of the Australia vs New Zealand test hands Seven a win

The first day of the Australia vs New Zealand test has handed Seven a TV win on Thursday night, delivering a 26.8% primary channel audience share and 37.5% as a network.

The third session was the most popular one with 672,000 metro viewers tuning in, followed by 620,000 for the second session, and 614,000 for the tea break. Session one brought in 414,000.

The cricket also took the top spots in the three key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s – holding the top three positions in all three demos.

Seven News was also the most-watched program of the night with 804,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine News on 781,000. ABC News delivered 522,000.

In entertainment programming, Hot Seat on Nine was the most-watched program with 434,000 metro viewers tuning in, followed by Great Getaways with 392,000.

The Project was Ten’s most-watched program, delivering 322,000 metro viewers at 7pm.

Nine held an audience share of 16.2% as a channel and 24.6% as a network, followed by 9.6% for ABC and 15.3% for the ABC Network. Ten managed 7.8% and 14.7% as a network. 7Two was the most-watched multi-channel with 4.5% audience share.
