DDB Melbourne picks up Momentum Energy

Momentum EnergyDDB Melbourne has won the creative account for Momentum Energy, the first new piece of business for the agency since a management restructure.

In February the group restructured with RAPP managing director David Brown moving across to the the creative to join Darren Spiller as joint-partners.

Various agencies within the DDB Group will be working across the business including PR and the tech-side of Tribal.

Speaking to Mumbrella, Brown said: “A great win for the group, a great win for the structure in how a client came into RAPP and we gave them acess to the resources within the group. Within that it’s extended to the work we’re doing in tech, in PR and activations.

Momentum Energy is part of Hydro Tasmania. Owned by the state of Tasmania, Hydro Tasmania says it its the the largest producer of renewable energy in Australia.

“They can genuinely say the majority of the power they provide is renewable,” said Brown.

Spiller said the brand fits the agency’s stable “quite well”.

“We have a lot of challenger brands,” he said. “We love those guys, they’re smaller and nimble like us.”

Spiller and Brown said the Momentum Energy win is proof their joint-leadership is working and is a point of difference within the industry.
