Deadline extended for agency ad competition
The deadline has been extended for entries to Mumbrella’s challenge to agencies and media companies to create the best online ad for themselves.
So far, more than 50 agencies have registered for the contest, which is being run in association with Thinkstock.
The only condition of entry is that each ad includes Thinkstock imagery. A free one-month Thinkstock subscription is available to anyone that wants to enter.
The prize includes a month’s advertising on Mumbrella and a one year, two-seat subscription to Thinkstock.
The deadline has now been extended from May 30 to Friday June 4.
A creative agency asking for an extension on material? Something new. 😉 😉 😉

Hi me,
I can take it slowly if you like.
1. Do you work in the communications industry, or a business associated with it?
2. Do you, therefore, tell your clients that advertising is something worth doing in order to promote your business or product and thus win new business? Do you beleive that to be true?
3. Does promoting your business to a relevant industry audience seem like a good idea?
4. Would you like to get that advertising inventory for free?
5. Are you or your colleagues talented and creative?
If you answer no to any of those questions, then I’d give it a miss.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
OK, stupid question but… I work in PR… and I’m not down with your advertising lingo.
Just confirming that you mean ‘submit two versions of the same ad (different dimenions)’ when you say expandable in the med. rectangular format?

Hi Dan,
You can choose to either submit a standard MREC – 300 x 250 pixels. This is the slot that appears on the right hand side of Mumbrella.
OR
An expandable MREC to the following specs:
Medium Rectangle
Size: 300 x 250 pixels &
Expandable to Medium
Rectangle: 600 x 350
Accepted formats: jpg/gif/swf
Image File size: 20kb
swf File size: 40kb
swf File size for expanded
panel: 100kb
This is a single advertisement that expands when you roll the cursor over it.
Hope this answers your question.
Sean
