Dentsu parts ways with Sarah McGregor and Kim Douglas
Dentsu Creative has confirmed that executive creative director, Sarah McGregor, is no longer with the business. It comes a week after the president of Merkle, dentsu’s CX agency, Kim Douglas, also departed.
McGregor joined Dentsu Creative in mid-2022 from Communicado, where she spent nearly 18 months as ECD. Prior to that, she worked at cummins&partners, Leo Burnett, and Karmarama, among other agencies. She is also a founding member of The Aunties, a mentoring and events program for women in the creative industries.
She was one of the first significant creative hires made by then-CCO Kirsty Muddle under Dentsu Creative, and led a number of projects including Dentsu Creative Entertainment’s Transplant Games documentary.
McGregor declined to comment when approached by Mumbrella.
Her departure comes a week after the group also parted ways with Kim Douglas, president of Merkle, after just five months in the role.
“As a business we require all employees to behave responsibly, respectfully and in compliance with our code of conduct which defines the way we behave and our expectations of our people,” a dentsu Australia spokesperson told Mumbrella of Douglas.
“This helps ensure we build a positive and respectful business culture where everyone can thrive.”
Mumbrella understands the two departures were unrelated.
Mumbrella also understands that Muddle, now CEO of product and practice for the wider dentsu group, has taken on Douglas’ remit as part of her new role, with support from Merkle executives.
This story has been updated since its original publication due to a legal dispute concerning a quote provided to Mumbrella from a dentsu Australia spokesperson on McGregor’s departure.
