Dentsu’s Woolworths Group digital head takes senior role at Wavemaker

Dentsu Aegis Network’s head of digital for Woolworth Group, Dru Nho, has left the agency to oversee the digital strategy at GroupM agency Wavemaker.

Nho, as national head of digital, will lead Wavemaker’s national digital and performance team and spearhead performance, data, tech and analytics.

He spent more than two years at WoolworthsGroup@DAN following spells at Ikon Communications and Mindshare.

Wavemaker chief executive Peter Vogel described Nho as a “passionate and highly respected digital leader”.

“[His] expertise will be invaluable in supporting our clients’ digital transformation journeys – particularly as eCommerce and personalisation become more critical – ensuring they can respond to today’s market demands with the most effective and innovative solutions,” he said.

Nho joins Wavemaker after a flurry of recent wins for the agency, including L’Oréal Australia & New Zealand, and Journey Beyond Group.

The recruitment of a new digital head follows the promotion of Philippa Noilea-Tani to the newly created role chief investment officer while national head of content and partnerships Shivani Maharaj was elevated to chief content and partnership officer.

In August, Wavemaker also appointed Daniel Mitchell as its first people and culture lead for Australia.
