Disaronno partners with Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2021

Alcohol brand Disaronno has revealed its cocktail for the 2021 Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, as its official liquor partner.

The announcement:

As an official liquor partner of Afterpay Australia Fashion Week (AAFW), Disaronno will be the drink of choice to celebrate fashion and style at AAFW 2021. The warm, sophisticated taste of Disaronno has a lineage dating back to one of the most romantic and creative periods in Italian history – the Renaissance.

This year, Disaronno has ramped up the romance pairing with iconic Australian fashion duo Romance Was Born, styling an exclusive new cocktail to celebrate the occasion.

Disaronno’s Brand Ambassador, Danilo Migliorini, was challenged with capturing the essence of Aperitivo hour on the Italian streets, a favourite past time for Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales of RWB, whilst giving the cocktail a fashion twist.

Danilo comments, “I created this recipe after having a chat with Anna and Luke. They told me what they love about Italy, starting with countless beautiful historic churches, and the quality of their coffee and chocolate. Sitting out on the streets in a café and soaking it all in. They also like Espresso Martinis so I took the chance to make their own cocktail based on that, but with a twist. ‘A Romance Was Born in Saronno’.”

This drink is smooth and velvety much like an Espresso Martini, however, includes refreshing lemon notes that cut through. To be transported to alfresco Italy in your own backyard, try the Disaronno Fizz. Light, fresh and incredibly simple to make: the Disaronno Fizz is a mix of DISARONNO, soda with a squeeze of lemon.

This Romance Was Born partnership has put emphasis on upcycling. Whilst RWB reuses fabrics and upcycles more non-conventional fashion items, Disaronno will serve all their cocktails during fashion week in upcycled glassware. Disaronno is also running a competition with Dress For Success to encourage the public to donate garments that would otherwise end up in landfill.

Thanks to its smooth taste and unmistakable aroma, Disaronno is highly regarded as the Italian stylish icon in over 160 countries around the world. The iconic Disaronno recipe composed of natural almonds, vanilla from Madagascar and pure caramelized sugar, as well as the addition of aromatic and alcoholic complexity, makes the Disaronno taste distinctively delicious.
