Dmg radio appoints Chris Thorpe as group production director

Production manager of UXB Productions Chris Thorpe will next week join Dmg radio Australia as group production director.   

The announcement:

September 19, 2011 –

dmg radio Australia announced the appointment of Chris Thorpe to the position of Group Production Director.

Chris joins dmg Radio Australia from UXB Productions where he has been Production Manager since January 2008. He was responsible for managing the production company and producing imaging, promos and promotions for Virgin Radio Stations globally from Dubai and Thailand to Johannesburg and Malaysia.

With over 15 year’s radio experience, Chris got his start in radio in 1996 as Imaging Producer and Panel Operator for Southern FM in Sussex and four years later became Imaging Producer for Power FM and Ocean FM in Hampshire. In August 2000 he moved to Scotland as Head of Production to rebrand Capital Radio’s new station Beat 106 and a year later Chris was promoted to Head of Imaging for the Galaxy Network in the UK.

In July 2004 he was employed as Head of Production and Deputy Program Director to launch the alternative station Kerrang! Radio in Birmingham. The station won numerous awards for imaging and programming during Chris’ years in this role.

Chris Thorpe said, “I can’t wait to join the team at Nova and am looking forward to getting started.”

Chris Thorpe will commence with dmg Radio Australia, based in Melbourne, on 26 September 2011.
