Technology focused media agency DWA has raided OMD WA for its new Sydney boss, and appointed former ZenithOptimedia Asia Pacific CEO Phil Talbot as a non-executive director.

Kiaran Geen, who replaces Adam Powell as MD of the Sydney office, held the role of group business director at OMD WA for nearly three years and was media director at Marketforce in Perth

His wife Olivia Geen who also worked for OMD has taken on a role as director for client communications planning for MediaCom in Sydney.

DWA CEO David Wood said: “Kiaran is a tremendous addition to the DWA team in Australia. I’m delighted to welcome him to the team. He will be working closely with regional managing director John Massey as we continue to significantly grow our ANZ business.”

Talbot, who takes on a role as non-executive director for the agency on the global board, left ZO last August after 19 years with the agency, but will remain as CEO of CEO of AsiaXpertise which he launched last September.

Wood said Talbot would be assisting with harnessing growth in Australia and China in particular adding: “His tremendous success over many years at ZenithOptimedia and his passion for technology made him a natural fit for our global management team.”

Talbot added: “Technology and its marketing has always been a passion of mine. Tech clients need specific talented people and a first class agency partner to meet their business goals. DWA can deliver this and I am looking forward to helping them grow and develop further.”
