Esther Wilson joins Camilla as marketing manager

Esther Wilson has joined Australian luxury clothing label Camilla as marketing manager.

Wilson stepped down as general manager of content and creative at the Hyland agency in November, before starting her search for a new role in order to “respect the deep commitment I’ve always had to Hyland”.

Reporting in to Pamela Routley, brand and marketing director, Wilson will be tasked with supporting global retail, wholesale and online channels.

Founded by designer Camilla Franks in Sydney’s Bondi Beach, Camilla – known primarily for its kaftans – has 20 boutiques in Australia and two in the US. Its future international plans drew Wilson to the role.

“It’s such an exciting time to join Camilla’s team, as this iconic Australian brand continues it’s international expansion. The creativity and capability in-house is inspiring, and I’m so looking forward to being part of it,” she said.

Wilson was with Hyland for seven years, joining in 2012, but said at the time of her departure that it was the “right time”.

“It feels like the right time – going out on a high, having innovated and built the C&C [content and creative] division, assembled a formidable team, helped secure exciting new business, and contributed to the most successful year yet on the award front,” Wilson said.
