Ex-Nike CMO Juliana Nguyen to head APAC marketing for Airbnb

Former Nike marketer Juliana Nguyen is to head Airbnb’s marketing across APAC the company has announced.

Nguyen, who was previously Melbourne based, takes over the role from Matthias Schuecking who has departed the company after a two-year term, according to sources close to the company.

She joins Airbnb after more than six years with Nike, where she was a member of the leadership team. In her time with the sportswear brand, the company delivered double-digit sales growth every year.

Most of her career has been spent client-side, with brands including Pernod Ricard, Seagram and Trimex, although before joining Nike she spent more than two years in Vietnam as the Ho Chi Minh City-based national MD for TBWA, the agency with which she will now work at Airbnb.

Schuecking joined Airbnb from Unilever, where he was regional marketing manager, in July 2014. His next move was unclear at the time of publishing.

Schuecking was the marketer behind award-winning work for Airbnb, including the ‘Welcome to Airbnb’ ad created by TBWA\Singapore that won at the Mumbrella Asia awards.
